We have been working on our training online the past few weeks. We have been learning some invaluable information that will help us in bonding with and understanding our children. Through all of this, we also submitted our first big payment so that we could be officially working on the process. Our contract fee was a payment of $8500 - a large sum of money, so now our next target will be $5,200 which is to pay for our home study and dossier (travel documents needed for the Philippines to accept us for adoption in the country). In the midst of all of this, we have third-party expenses (such as the required Psychological examinations that the country requires for us to be considered for adoption, background checks and fingerprinting, and we will need to also order passports). If we end up getting approved for siblings and choose a sibling group, we will owe an additional $3,250 for the contract fee and the dossier payment will go from $5200 to $6950, so needless to say, we have a lot of expenses upcoming. Since we have not been matched yet, we are currently paying for a one child adoption, which is why our contract fee was $8500. We have to pay the dossier fee before Christmas. As this is fast approaching, we need your help. Below shows the most recent step we paid (contract) and the one we are at now.
Altogether the adoption will cost upwards of $50,000. So, when it comes to all the money we raise during the adoption process, we have the puzzle fundraiser to represent what we have raised. We have decided that each piece in the puzzle will represent $50. As the puzzle comes together, it will represent our adoption actually being pieced together. It is a great visual to show how far we have to go and how far we have come.
We do need help to make this happen. As Caleb and I have pursued this adoption process, we firmly believe God is going to call us to a sibling group, and that costs more money, so we cannot do this alone. Would you pray and ask God how He would like you to be involved in this process with us? We need prayer partners and we need financial partners also.
